ALLEGAN WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The construction of the new process building and 500,000-gallon precast storage tank is well underway for the Allegan Water Treatment Plant project. All of the concrete floors, structural steel, masonry walls, and exterior brickwork have been completed, with the intricate wood truss roof framing scheduled to complete by mid-August. The roofing consists of a standing seam roof panel and photovoltaic (solar) panel system, which will start immediately after the truss framing and sheathing are completed. Processing equipment is starting to arrive for placement into the building, with three horizontal pressure filter vessels (10’-0 diameter x 25’-0 long) being installed on August 18.

The contractor constructing the above ground precast storage tank has completed their underground piping work and poured the base slab for the 65’-0 diameter tank. All of the wall panels have been cast on site and are ready to be set in place. The interior formwork was just completed for supporting the cast-in-place concrete roof. The wall panels will now be set and the roof formwork completed for pouring the roof structure. Interior baffles will also be poured after the roof, and equipment and piping installed after concrete work is completed. The tank is scheduled to be complete in early October.
