BIG RAPIDS WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS, BIG RAPIDS

Phase II of the Big Rapids Wastewater Treatment Plant project was substantially completed on schedule July 1. The work included demolition of the old control building and the construction and commission of a new 50-foot diameter north digester structure at the same location. Additionally, Erhardt completed the retrofit of equipment in the blower and digester buildings.

The last phase of the project is underway and involves construction of the new grease grit building and equipment, retrofit of the existing south digester with new aeration and blower systems, and completion of all new computer control upgrades.

The site work to be completed involves all new sidewalks, curb and gutter, new cul-de-sac drive and access road around the maintenance building, and topsoil and seeding. This last phase of work is scheduled for completion at the end of September.
