PROJECT UPDATE: BENTON CHARTER TOWNSHIP WATER FILTRATION PLANT AND RAW WATER PUMP STATION

Erhardt and our subcontractors began pumping Lake Michigan water from the raw water pump station to the water filtration plant for use in Siemens' process commissioning. Siemens will spend the next two weeks finalizing the filtration system and running it through different process scenarios.

The filtration plant is now seeing its final coat of paint and finishes. All plumbing, mechanical and electrical fixtures have been installed, and testing and balancing of the building's HVAC and electrical are under way. The laboratory is now complete and the owner started moving their equipment into the plant last week. Benton Charter Township anticipates cutting off city-supplied water and sending their own out for distribution to the residents by October 17.

The raw water pump station is still under construction as crews wrap up the remaining interior framing, mechanical and electrical rough-ins and painting. All process equipment is installed and functioning. The exterior site grading, concrete driveway and exterior masonry facade will be completed within the next two weeks. Beach, parking lot and road restoration is currently under way and will be completed by the end of October.
